On the flipside DJ BadboE speeds up the spin in his funky fresh nu skool break remix and finally the EP closes with the catchy new wiccatron tune Fiction Within!
Yet another awesome release from the BBP label to hit the streets. This groovy and funky release is the debut single on BBP for Mick who was the winner of the funky breaks category in Breakbeat Contest 2006. "The Hip Scene Fequency EP" really showcases Mick's amazing talent to mix and put together funky breaks based on old 60s and 70s secondhand grooves. With a fresh nu skool sound and at the same time being funky as hell this release is a must check out for all breakbeat-fans!
The EP kicks of with the electro funk original of the groovy upbeat "Hip Scene Fequency". Followed up by the smashing progressive funk remix by Dj BadboE. The sweet vocal and cool guitar hook makes this song and state-of-the-art funky break tune!
The flip-side brings you some more outstanding material from Mick's funk factory. "Mr. Thunderbird" is a jolly funky breaker with nice and groovy beat and a superb brass section! The final tune "No Moderate Stimulation" is a true breakbeat perl - a mellow and downtempo tune in true "fatboy slim-style".
Let's hope for a lot more releases from the Mick source in the future...
The Bastard Breaks EP is the debut solo release from the talented funkybreak wizard B.B Borne who also contibuted a great remix to the "Sound of Invation EP". This release shows to perfection what to expect from the BBP label. Raw - mashed up - funky breaks with all the groovy flavour that makes out true breakbeat tunes like they used to be!
The EP kicks off with the amazing funky Bastard Break Vol. 1 where Borne slaps us around some oldskool grooves and some cutting edge breaks. The EP rolls on with a darker but nevertheless funky breaker "Mentally Defective" - which features some superb dark synthlines and some heavy duty breaks! Third cut on the EP "My Shit Dont Stink" gives us a great mixture of the 2 previous tunes - with the funky flavour of Bastard Breaks and dark acid synth of Mentally Defective!
The final cut on the EP is a totally different downtempo remix of Bastard Breaks by DJ BadboE. With a catchy main groove and some pumping thip hop beats this baby strolls on gentley from start to finish! It shows a more easy-going, chillout side to BBP label which we will be hearing much more of in the future.
The debut EP from Italian based producer/dj Break the Box on bbp recordings showcases the super fresh nu skool break style that rule the Itailen breakscene at the moment. With solid productions including a steady mind on the pulse and the beat, this release will "Break-The-Box" on any dancefloor it’s dropped on!
The EP kicks off with the straight-in-your-face nu skool groover "A Little More" with a pumping break and a progressive bassline. Chopping up a vocal sample and adding some spice with an acid synthline and some futuristic stabs - who can ask for more? In true BBP tradition this tune stays fresh and funky while still providing that nu
skool flavour!
The second cut on this EP "Drop The Bass" keeps the funk going with another steady funky nu skool breaker.
Adding some traditional funk element in the forms of funky wah wah guitar and "James Brown" sound-alike vocalhooks fits perfectly with the breaking box style!
Moving on to the third track "I Wanna Get You" continues without slowing down with yet another fresh
dancefloor groover! Adding a little more electro to the mix, this tune pumps on with a steady nu skool break and fresh tech bassline. Keeping it all on the spot is a nice chopped vocalhook and some twisted acid synth while remaining raw and hot!
The 4th cut on the EP shows you the true Italian break style with the progressive nu skool pumper "The
Bluff"! The producer that never allows you to sit still has electrified things by adding some dark electro elements to the cocktail of beats and bass!
This is just the beginning of a promising future for this talented breakbeat producer and we hope to be able to give you more hot releases from this source next year! This is also the beginning of a new era for BBP Recordings who will be bringing the funk into the nu skool break scene!
Allright BBP is back and we couldn't help but to lay some serious breaks on you this time! BadboE has
returned with brand new style and sound that should bring BBP steady into the Nu Year! Mixing flavours of rock n roll and nu skool breaks is the right cocktail to keep the floors motivated in the clubs!
First cut on the EP is the title tune "Walk out Laughing" that demonstrates the ingredients to its fullest with the unique mixture of oldskool rock n roll and nu skool breaks as well as a twist of reggae to go it! With an amazing vocalline and progressive beat this track should help get most crowds moving! As the lyrics say - leaving a
relationship can never be that bad when you can "Walk out Laughing"!
To complete the essence of this cocktail we needed the always reliable production skillz of our Italian nu skool break wizard - "Break the Box". With this "Walk out Laughing Remix" he really broke it all the way out-of-the-box and straight onto the dancefloor with superiority! With an amazing pumping beat and a groovy acid bassline as well as some superb synthlines this became an immediate BBP classic! This is a must check-out!
The third cut on the EP "Acid Lady" takes things back to the roots with an original and catchy rock n roll tune in a drum n bass disguise! With its 187 BPMs this baby runs at full throttle from beginning to end and after just a few minutes of playtime you will be hooked! The catchy vocalline and progressive beat will make sure of
that...
The final track on the EP "Big City Funk" slows down things a little bit with some jazzy nu skool break flavour! This piece of music represents life the big city - with all its shades and edges - from the easy sides to the darker sides of things! With lots of atmosphere, guitarlines, horns and pumping beat this track puts you in for a nice musical ride... Enjoy!

Pale the Kid is brand new act from Greece but the people behind it: DJ Kid Stretch and Pale Penguin are skilled producers that has been doing damage in the breaks scene for a long time.
DJ Kid Stretch, former champ of Greek DMC, has been releasing several tunes for the "Battle of the Breaks" soundtracks and most recently dropped the very successful Good Groove 12" that made it all the way to the no. 1 spot on the breakbeat chart.
Pale Penguin has been active in the Greek electronic scene since the early nineties and has been DJing alongside some of the biggest names in breakbeat as well as running the tech-break label V.I.M Records.
Together they form a perfect blend of their individual backgrounds with the music that can best be described as “uplifting Electronic Disco-Breaks for the dancefloor with Funky, Soul and Rave drops”.
BBP Recordings is very proud to introduce their very first release from Pale the Kid: Work That Sucker EP with 2 fresh remixes from the nu funk legends Basement Freaks and Calagad13.
A. Pale the Kid work's up some serious electro breaks on the title tune Work That Sucker with a smooth cocktail of mindblowing disco cuts and pumping basslines. A perfect examples of how well the Pale-Kid concept works!
B. Calagad13 is without doubt a man that never disappoints on a remix and he Works up this Sucker real good! This is funky disco breaks at its finest and it shows just about every trick in the book about how to produce a groovy breakbeat tune! Pumping beats - funky wah wah guitar, disco grooves and lots vocal cuts - who can ask for more?
C. Pale the Kid pumps up things a bit on the flipside with the vocal driven Power of Bass. With a banging nu skool break and some twisted synthlines this should keep the dancefloors busy anywhere.
D. It’s a great pleasure to have Basement Freaks back on the BBP with an awesome remix of Power of Bass. Basement Freaks manages to though in some traditional funk flutes and horns into the big electro atmosphere - and the result is off the hook - check it out!

HALOBEATZ (BASS REFLECTIONS, V.I.M.BREAKS, NUBEATZ)
WOHOU! - Power of bass is GREAT - wanna play it
i know the sample already several times
but you guys placed it different
therefore it got a total nu-groove
very nice, and also basement freaks rmx is very cool
very good acoustic samples and instruments which some audience
will dig for sure -i´m looking forward to try that
get into the muse
both sucker tunes are pretty cool as well
this is the funky shit
to be honest grigoris, i never buy "releases"
download just single tunes that i like, but this EP feels most ONE
or belonging together, this would make sense to buy at once
it´s really a great release
CLAAS REIMER (WI:RE project, V.I.M.BREAKS, BASSTARD)
cool stuff, funkytronic style, good vibe music :-)
ZAMALI (MICHIGAN, TIMEWARP MUSIC)
I really dig it. Nice work guys.
My favourite tracks from the pack is your original of "Power Of Bass" & also Georges's Ric)emix, more funky. The other track is nice too, more house old school & i might play it in my sets too with the right crowd.
I like both original tracks better which means that you did a great job with them, all the best & good luck with the release.
ED ROYAL (INNVISION RECORDS)
...love "work that sucker" and also the remix.
Really cool beat and love the disco in the track. Really fresh style. played it this weekend and test it also next week in slovakia and germany.
really cool sounds.
"power of bass" is not my thing. I don´t like the vocals.
Basement Freaks remix is o.k. and a great flute and cool beat, but here
comes also the vocals.I play "work that sucker" and the remix in all my next dj-sets.
Respect and good work.
MAELSTROM (KATORZA, WEST RECORDS)
nice package, I like the overhall disco vibe, not sure if I'll play it out though, because I'm not often booked to play funky sets ;)
CHRIS AIRPLAYS (BRAP FM)
My response for this release:
Feeling the Calagad13 Remix of Work That Sucker, wicked disco vibe with quality edits and a lovely funky break.
KYULO (DEFT COMPOUNDZ on IBREAKS RADIO)
Good to see the Pale The Kid stuff is ready to it the streets!
My favorites are "Work That Sucker (original)" and "The Power Of Bass (Basement Freaks rmx)" these will surely get some plays!
The Power Of Bass (original) is less my thing because of the snare you used, don't like that sound at all and also there's too much you used use of that vocal, I can't really stand it... but that's my personal taste ;) The Calagad13 rmx of Work That Sucker isn't bad at all and I'll play that in the right kind of sets, but mostly I'll be rinsing the original.
Well, that's about it...
The complete package is cool and good material for the summer!
ELECTRIC SOULSIDE (POTTY MOUTH, CONTROL BREAKS, V.I.M.BREAKS, ERASE)
Your Project 'Pale the kid' is REALLY cool! fresh disco-breaks.. we love this vibes!
'Work That Sucker' original is our fave! big support from the soulside! ;)

BBP proves that they are here to stay, with this super funky disco break. Work That Sucker takes disco into 2009, Calaged 13 remixes it into a funky super blaster and Basement Freaks gives it real breakbeat power to the dancefloor. Will play this for sure.
BBP Recordings is back once again introducing our brand new funk act called “Camels on Duty” from the Netherlands. They bring a refreshing type of oldskool breaks meets funky breaks. They come up to the surface to set the table straight with raw vinyl vibes and acoustic instruments. The funky dudes Elmo and Bart teamed up 3 years back and are now ready to let the world hear what they’ve been cooking up in the studio.
The COD crew is definitely a promising producer tram and this debut EP shows what they can do with some rhymes and rhythms. From the story telling and atmospheric Food Run to the bang on oldskool jammin' breaker Getting’ Paid. Again, right on the spot is the very talented nu funk producer Jayl Funk, to delivers yet another smooth and funky remix for this package.
Where else to find these original oldskool and unspoiled breaks, but here at your favorite funky label – BBP Recordings!
A. Camels on Duty, kicks like a mule on a tribute journey back to oldscool funk. Michael Conner's storyteller-voice works perfectly well on top of the Food Run track. We are proud to present a true original funkster, with a story to tell.
B. The Jayl Funk Remix sends the original story of Food Run, on to yet another level of funk. A mean, lean and funky "comin' back at ya'" kinda-remix, that takes the listener to a journey back to real oldscool days.
C. Getting’ Paid, is a oldie but goodie funky breakbeat tune. Still with the "vinyl feel" and the originality of Camels on Duty. You got to give it up for these boys, with the splendid elements of true funk and real guitars.
D. Liar Liar, will let you find yourself, in the middle of some truecore breakdance oldschool funky boomboxsound with grafitti up the wall. “You can't handle the truth” of theese wellfitted organs and steels on breaks. Real nice round-up B-side track.
Attention all funky breakbeat heads! The Danish independent label AuditoryDesigns is proud
to present the full-length debut Break the Funk by BadboE. We have listened to his groovy tracks over and over at the office and cannot seem to get enough. This crispy breakbeat
bomb is meant to kick some flavour to the floor and we are sure that a lot of DJs will find
BadboE’s touch on the genre refreshing.
Break the Funk consists of 15 original tracks with plenty of sampling, scratches, good
beats and a praised remix of Dynamite made by All Good Funk Alliance (AGFA). BadboE gets
his inspiration from late 60’s and 70’s funky productions like other breakbeat artists, and has
refined it all in his mix with 80’s vocals and hooks. On “Undergroup Hero” MC Sens One is guest
performing and Linn Lavinsky from Phat Old Mamas (has worked with Marc Collin from Nouvelle
Vagues) is spicing “Spread the Words” up, with her highly addictive and sensual voice.
BadboE has already released numerous EPs among them Loose your Funky Self and most recently
Dynamite also on AuditoryDesigns, both received good responses from funk DJs all over the world,
both title tracks are included on Break the Funk.
BadboE proves that you do not need to be born American to make some heavy funk-influenced
catchy tunes. With the approach of bringing UK-style breaks in combination with soulful vocal
samples and elements from the Danish hip-hop heritage, he has his own distinctive sound. At
AuditoryDesigns we are not afraid to say that BadboE is one of the most interesting
musicians at the funky part of the Scandinavian scene. So tune the ears in at planet Break the
Funk, it’s partytime!

BadboE! First off let me say that I am humbled and privileged that you mentioned me in your liner notes. Thank you so much. Truly a great honour.
Secondly...What an album! Its awesome. There are some brilliant tracks on there. Its a testament to your talent. I wish you every success with it. Ill do whatever I can for it through the show. I was thinking of showcasing it by doing a special edition of the Big beat battlefield at the beginning of the show with just tracks from your album? How does that sound? Or maybe you have a different idea of something we can do?
Either way, thanks a lot for sending it on. Its brilliant. Keep up the great work man.
Headspin Promotion (DJ UK)
Hey Badboeeeeeeee, thank for the Album - awesome work! Dope compilation!
Griff (Jelly Jazz / Rambunctious Social Club / Eden Arts Cafe)
This is seriously funky business! There are a lot of 'funk wannabees' out there that think by sticking a clavinet and a wah guitar on a track makes it funk but in truth it's all in the groove. Badboe really understands this. These tracks really swing. Proper topshelf 21st century funk!
Will be playing at my three residencies in the SouthwestUK and on the Jelly Jazz radio show for sure!
Hipster (DJ)

Jayl Funk is back on BBP Recordings to set the dancefloors around the world on fire with no other than the Nu Funk master Quincy Jointz. The 2 German producers teamed up back in 2008 to do the Fresh Funky Dude track which ended up on Quincy’s album: “Praia de Geriba” released earlier this year. BBP is proud to present this full EP with even fresher remixes by CMC Silenta and Umbo & Pips and brand new funky joint by Jayl and Quincy!
A. The EP kicks off with the straight-up dancefloor killer original of Fresh Funky Dude. With a steady progressive beat, groovy bassline and cut up vocals this baby stays fresh and funky to the very end.
B. CMC Silenta pushes on the funk with their hard-rocking remix of Fresh Funky Dude. Pumped up with electric guitar and a block rocking beat this is sure to keep the dancefloors busy.
C. Umbo & Pips leaves no opportunity to funk it up and this remix shows a great example of this duo’s skills. Pushing up the tempo in a nice funky production that leaves you no chance to stand still.
D. The funkateers Jayl Funk & Quincy Jointz is serious breaking it down with the ultra funk track “Rock It” – and what a great way to finalize this groovy EP.

The Day The World Funsplosed EP All Trax $5.49
BBP Recordings is proud to introduce Prosper - a new artist on the label with his EP The Day The World Funksplosed which features remixes by Mr Storm, Audited Beats and BadboE and MC Runigga on the mic. Prosper is no stranger in the nu-funk scene and has already several releases under his belt on labels like Bombstikes, East and Sunsetsoul.
Prosper has over 10-years of dancefloor experience as a DJ around the world – from China to USA alongside cats like Dj Krush, Plump Dj’s, Freddy Fresh, The Freestylers etc. So putting together partybombs for the B-boys and clubbers is what Prosper do best! Funk, Reggae, Electro? No matter! We’ll easily switch from style to style, bearings are dislocated but the groove stays!!
A. The EP kicks off with the Sunka’s totally exclusive « Nu Skool » version, which will know how to bring you directly on the dance floor one way or another…
Indeed who’ll be able to stand up to this sax’s catchy calling and drop on this genetically modified big bass.
B. BadboE isn’t liberal with the big funky artillery to satisfy your dancefloor addiction’s appetite with his uptempo partyfunk remix.
C. Audited Beats (Goodgroove) slow down the tempo, harden the tone, and introduces a dark hip-hop version that a true B-Boy will never disown.
D. Mr Strom (AKA Maelstrom) makes a stun tribute to the end 90’s label like Skint and Wall Of Sound with his Acid / Big Beat remix: Just overwhelming!

BBP Recordings reclaims the breakbeat barrage of explosive drums and crunchy filters with this long anticipated new Wiccatron release “Mighty Bombs”. B. The Mighty Bombs titletrack takes on the harder, more upfront side of breakbeat with raving Raggamuffin MC’s toasting along the way with in ya face rockguitars. There’s a heavenly core of bass that will leave you wanting more and loads of experimenting earcandy and scratching that will keep on rocking inside your head long after it drops. C. Lovelock (Love And Live), is a part direct soundboard recording with funky riffs from the seventies crammed with a lot of love for the breakscene and upholds interstellar evolving breaks and a happy earcatching melody from the lead synth to satisfy the crowd. Still with originality of Wiccatron’s surprising elements with a searing 303 and the tribal Raggamuffin MC’s, once again toasting some heavy rhymes. Break The Funk Remixed All Trax $14.99
Break The Funk, the debut album from Danish NuFunk legend BadboE shook the NuFunk scene with its seemingly effortless blend of raw funky groove, hip-hop cut & paste aesthetic, soulful vocals
and slamming dancefloor-friendly breaks.
Now Boe is back, and he’s brought his friends.
Almost every name on the scene throws down for this remix album, from Fort Knox Five and Fuzzbox Inc. to Basement Freaks and Danny Massure. The rock solid grooves of the original
album are re-grooved, remixed, stripped-down, chopped, diced, sliced and re-formed into mighty new funk bombs.
As with Break The Funk this album is a must-have for DJs across the spectrum from Breaks and NuFunk to Rare Groove and Hip-Hop.
01. Funk In The Air – Fort Knox Five Remix
This album-opener combines a trouser-flapping bassline with rock solid beats and BadboE’s trademark wikka-stikka guitars and hands-in-the-air vocal shouts. Fort Knox Five remind everyone why they are one of the most admired and imitated acts on the flourishing NuFunk scene with this dancefloor-devastating remix. An instrumental version of this one is
also included in the package.
02. My Bad – Jayl Funk Remix
Scratches, guitar stabs and a rumbling bassline tag-team with rap snippets and chunky breaks on this track. The first breakdown sees Jayl Funk building pressure with an awesome horn line before
dropping into an unrelenting groove.
03. Loose Your Funky Self – Fuzzbox Inc. Remix
Sounding like 22nd Century disco with 1970s grit, this is a banger that will work on any dancefloor. Deep bass, uplifting piano and funked-up guitars blend with soulful samples and enough builds and drops to
keep the crowd shaking.
04. Nothing But The Funk – Fretless Remix
Tackling one of the biggest tunes from ‘Break The Funk’ Fretless lowers the tempo and adds a filthy synth bass to this funky concoction. The groove is spacious and driving, a perfect blend of retro funk
samples and nu-skool synths and scratches.
05. Rescue Me – Big M Remix
Stepping up with tough up-tempo beats, incredible guitar lines and a rolling bassline, Big M’s take on ‘Rescue Me’ is dancefloor-ready right out of the box.
The drop on this one is massive and the second half sees a lowdown, grimey, floor-quaking bassline invade the mix. In short - this one is going to be huge.
06. My Bad – Basement Freaks Remix
Starting with a 4/4 kick and Latin percussion touches, Basement Freaks really stamp their mark on this track.
Vocal stabs and shining brass swirl around the beats and bass as this tune just grows and grows in a chugging infectious groove.
07. Let’s Get Ill – Nick Fonkynson Remix
With filtered disco touches, tough drum machine beats and incredibly funky synth bass, Nick Fonkynson’s take on ‘Let’s Get Ill’ takes no prisoners.
The brass section gets a workout and the beats become more and more intense throughout this track. Redefining the word phat!
08. My Bad – Tal M Klein Remix
A seriously infectious organ riff drives this remix, duelling with funky wah-wah guitars, a low-slung bass riff and deep kick drums.
As the vocal echoes sweep and swirl, the drums get more intense and the lush funky groove takes hold. Tal M Klein sounds like he’s taken the Meters hostage and forced them to play for him at gunpoint.
09. Ease The Funk – Funky Destination Rhodes Remix
As the name suggests, the electric piano is the start of this show as it blends with a walking bassline, funky vocal snippets and wicked touches of guitar.
A serious groove that take you back to the old school.
10. My Bad – Danny Massure Remix
Changing down a gear, Danny Massure gives us a slinky groover, lacing a bluesy guitar riff, funky brass stabs and Latin percussion into a heady cocktail perfect for a sunny day – Mojito on wax!
11. Funky Intro – PulpFusion Remix
The samples and scratches come thick and fast on this one – fat breaks, ‘Lesson’ style vocal snippets and guitar stabs.
When the vocals drop midway through, the groove is rock solid and the disparate elements suddenly come together into one beautiful whole.
12. Underground Heroes – Prosper Remix
This one gets down and dirty from the outset – full of unexpected switch-ups, jacking beats and filthy bass. Prosper smashes the original into splinters and re-assembles it into a jagged party stomper with fidget house touches. Big. Real big.
13. Spread The Words – B-Dub Remix
Deep, spacious vocals flow over cinematic strings and sparse percussion as this strolls along. Definitely one for the after-party crowd, this remix takes BadboE’s original down a jazzy chillout route
with amazing success.
14. Let’s Get Ill Ft. Rabbi Darkside
This track is a massive hip-hop bomb. Darkside’s lyrics flow like a bubbling verbal river over tough beats and a filtered horn groove.
Seriously, as if the beat wasn’t wicked enough, the vocal performance raises this to something else entirely. Must be heard to be believed.

BBP Recordings is very proud to welcome back one of the absolute leading men in the nu funk scene: Basement
Freaks with another outstanding EP: Jam In the Jungle, which is also the very first BBP release on 12” vinyl.
Basement Freaks has teamed up with some other nu funk heavyweighters Parker (Good Groove/Jalapeno/Roc Star)
and BadboE (Good Groove/Bombstrikes/Auditory Designs) to deliver some banging remixes as well as the talented Mc
Coppa with fresh rhymes on the title tune. The 12” release has been a massive success on vinyl, being top 10 on Juno
for 6 weeks and counting. The digital EP features a extra funky remix by Calagad13 & Javier Morillas.
It has been quite a journey for the Greek producer George Fotiadis aka Basement Freaks, since his last release on
BBP called Street Assassin from 2008. He has been releasing music on just about every nu funk label which has
earned him the title: the hardest working man in the international nu funk and breakbeat scene! Most recently he has
released the very successful Disco Life EP on Jalapeno Records.
A. The EP kicks off at full speed with the catchy latin breaks tune Jam In The Jungle. The booming beats and
bass and superb vocal contribution of Mc Coppa should please any dancefloor around the globe!
B. Parker lines up the heavy machinery with his bassy dub step remix of Jam In The Jungle.
Parker is an expert in putting party stompers together, and this is a perfect example of that.
C. On the flipside Basement Freaks shows no signs of slowing down as he drops another Latin party bomb on us.
Balkanizacia rocks the house start to end, with its bouncing bassline, chopped up vocals and funky Latin grooves.
D. BadboE does what he does best as he tears out the maximum funk of the Balkanizacia track. The
extremely funky reggae groove and the bad ass beat should ensure massive activity on the dancefloors...
E. On the final remix of Jam In The Jungle, Calagad13 has joined forces with countryman Javier
Morillas and the result is massive! A melodic drum ‘n’ bass-ish remix which brings out the best in MC Coppa vocals.
Oldskool beats, catcy synth and lots of bass is what you can expect of this groovy remix.
